Who doesn’t love playdough! It makes the perfect kids activity, great for fine motor skills and just fun! The not so great side is the store bought kind is full of chemicals, synthetic fragrance, and contains too much plastic with the containers and packaging. This is a super easy and cost effective recipe that you can do at home. I love to add all natural food coloring (which can be found at any health food store) and some essential oils like lavender or eucalyptus to make it more sensory experience. I like to keep mine in re-purposed glass containers. Here it is!
- 2 CUPS FLOUR
- 1 CUP SALT
- 2 TABLESPOONS VEGETABLE OIL
- 2 TEASPOONS CREAM OF TARTAR
- 2 CUPS BOILING WATER
- ALL NATURAL FOOD COLORING
- ESSENTIAL OILS
Mix dry ingredients together in a bowl and add boiling water. Mix until thickened and add all natural food coloring until desired color is reached. Once cooled a bit you can use your hands to knead the dough. If play dough seems sticky you can add more flour. Add essential oils and enjoy!
